What to know when choosing a manufacturing partner — from prototypes and pricing to production, installation, and aftercare.
Answers about Select by Andaaz
Can Select manufacture an established brand prototype?
Yes, where the applicable brand program allows qualified manufacturers. We can work from established specifications, approved drawings, finishes, and project requirements while managing samples, production, QC, first-room installation support, and aftercare throughout the project.
Can you customize an existing prototype for our property?
Where brand standards allow customization, yes. We can adapt finishes, materials, dimensions, details, or construction to respond to the property, location, guest profile, or operational needs while respecting the overall brand vision and working through the required approval process.
Can Select develop a new prototype?
Yes. We work with brands and design teams to turn concepts and specifications into production-ready casegoods and seating. We consider design intent, construction, materials, finishes, durability, cost, manufacturability, installation, and repeatability during development — not after the prototype is already built.
How do you approach pricing and value engineering?
We look at cost early, including materials, construction, engineering, quantities, sourcing, and production planning. When value engineering is needed, the goal is to identify where cost can come out without unnecessarily compromising design intent, durability, or performance. We can also present alternates so the project team understands the cost and performance implications of different choices.
What makes your casegoods appropriate for hospitality use?
We consider how each component will actually perform — not simply whether a material sounds “commercial grade.” Substrate selection, joinery and reinforcement, high-wear surfaces, drawer construction and glides, hardware, finish performance, installation, and serviceability are evaluated around guest use, housekeeping, cleaning, luggage impact, and long-term maintenance.
What do you look for when manufacturing hospitality seating?
Seating performance starts inside the piece. We consider frame construction, joinery, reinforcement, suspension, foam, upholstery, and high-stress connection points, along with comfort, cleanability, finish performance, and future repair or reupholstery needs.
What happens after we issue a PO?
Our project management team coordinates the project through shop drawings and engineering, finishes and samples, approvals, production, quality control, and shipping. We then support the first-room installation and remain available through property installation and aftercare.
Why does Select support the first-room installation?
Resolving installation questions in the first room can save significant time later. Our team helps installers understand assembly, placement, and installation before they move through the property. That creates a repeatable process, reduces mistakes and questions, and helps installation move more efficiently from room to room.
Do you provide aftercare after installation?
Yes. Our involvement doesn’t end when the furniture arrives. We remain available for punch items, replacement parts, warranty issues, damage resolution, and other property needs that arise after installation.
How early should we involve Select in a project?
Earlier is usually better. Early involvement gives us an opportunity to review construction, materials, finishes, budget, manufacturability, and schedule before decisions become expensive or difficult to change. This can be particularly valuable during prototype development or when value engineering is required.
What information do you need to provide pricing?
Send us the available drawings or specifications, quantities, finish and material requirements, property and brand information, required installation date, and any known budget or value-engineering goals. If something is still being developed, that’s okay — we can identify what is needed to move the project forward.
Have a project-specific question?
Reach out with the property, the scope, and the installation or opening date, and we will point you to the right conversation.
